Amrita Student Wins First Prize at MIT Robocon 2019 Competition

Ruthvik Chanda (Semester 7) of Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won first prize at Robocon 2019, an esteemed robotic competition, held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston, USA, from July 29 to August 9, 2019. This is the 30th edition of the RoboCon International Design Contest (IDC).

A four member student team  consisting of Deepak N., Phanindra Kumar A., Raviteja G. and Ruthvik C., from Semester 7 ECE from HuT labs, got the opportunity this year to take part in this global competition. The competition was by invitation only and extended to only one top university of 15 countries including Japan, Singapore, China, South Korea, France, Brazil, Mexico, India, etc. This year, students from 11 countries took part in the competition. Ruthvik’s team won the first prize. Raviteja’s team reached the semi finals.
