Amrita School of Biotechnology PhD students awarded at International symposium on Translational Neuroscience, Indian Academy of Neuroscience’s Annual Conference.

XXXIII Annual conference of Indian Academy of neurosciences was held from October 31- November 2, 2015 at the Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Three PhD students presented their research studies on computational neuroscience and neurophysiology based at Amrita School of Biotechnology during the International symposium. All three young research students at Amrita School of Biotechnology were selected for the academy’s prestigious John Miller Travel award, Lalita & Ravindra Nath Travel award and the IAN travel award.

At this year’s meeting, which was also an International symposium on Translational Neuroscience, Sandeep Bodda was awarded the IAN Travel Fellowship, towards his paper titled “EEG-Based Assessment and Categorisation for Imagery Based Movement and Mental Tasks.” Arathi G. Rajendran was awarded with Lalita and Ravindra Nath Travel award for presenting the paper titled “Analyzing Mutual Information and Synaptic Efficacy at Mossy Fiber– Granule Cell Relay in Rat Cerebellum.” Chaitanya K. Nutakki was awarded with John Miller Travel Award for presenting the paper titled “Implementing Cerebellar Biophysics for Trajectory Planning in Robotic Arms.
