Amrita Sanjeevani Members Visit Orphanage in Parippally

Members of the Amrita Sanjeevani, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus celebrated this year’s Diwali at Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi’s, home for orphaned children at Parippally, renewing bonds with the residents of the orphanage.

The children at the orphanage welcomed the Amrita Sanjeevani members with a captivating display of gracious folk dances, traditional Kerala chendai melam, performed by teachers and senior students, and other cultural events. The kids exhibited their artistic, creative talents with these performances. Amrita Sanjeevani members also added a festive spirit to the day by performing solo songs, group dance and skits.

The children were gifted with clothes, books, cricket kits, carom boards and and other fun things. Amrita Sanjeevani had open-heartedly worked hard to design a day that would remain in the memories of everyone present. The members ensured that the day was festive with the children given firecrackers to celebrate the festival of lights, and a sumptuous Diwali dinner.

“We could see the sparkle of joy in the eyes of more than 200 kids… We spent quality time with them, providing the much needed feeling of togetherness, sense of belonging and bonding of a family.  We became like their elder brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts. This Diwali was very special to all of us,” shared the Sanjeevani members.

“A lovely day well spent, we left with hearts overflowing with love, delight, immersed in the feeling of gratitude, happiness and fulfillment,” they concluded.
