Amrita Mysuru Campus Conducts Alumni Meet 2019

The School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, organized its 7th Alumni meet under the aegis of Amritians Mysore chapter, at its campus on September 15, 2019, from 4.30 PM to 7.30 PM.

Prof Prashanth.R.Nair (Associate Professor and Vice-Chairperson, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore), delivered an alumni address to all members present and impressed upon the alumni gathering, the challenges of entrepreneurship and the need for a strong alumni network.

Mr. Santhosh Kumar B. J., Alumni Coordinator, Mysore campus presented an alumni event report for the year 2018. Many alumni extend their support for conducting workshops and seminars and explained the need of the industry -corporate knowledge sharing and he requested for members to conduct such technical sessions.

Old memories were recalled by playing video at the Mysore campus. Br. Venugopal (Campus Correspondent, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru), Br. Sunil Dharmapal (Campus Director, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru)), Dr. Krishna Kumar (Campus Director, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi), Dr. Dandapani (Controller of Examinations, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore) and staff members were also part of the event.

The music club – arranged musical extravaganza and the atmosphere filled with warmth celebrating togetherness, looked forward to all those present. The event was a good blend of formal and cultural taking everyone down memory lane. The Alumni interaction provided a platform for sharing experiences, ideas, feeling and opinions. Various suggestions were given to strengthen the alumni network and work for mutual growth. The music club – arranged musical extravaganza and atmosphere filled with warmth celebrating togetherness.

A banquet dinner was arranged for everyone.

The alumni shared few experiences as follows.

  1. Mr. Vinay M. C., Bangalore, said he recalled his memories of college days, teachers and juniors. He thanked all teachers and mentioned that he actively participated in various college fests and won prizes.
  2. Mr. Rohith Bhat, (MCom Graduate -2016 batch)Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, mentioned that teachers and his friends at the campus helped him gain knowledge in academics and he inculcated moral values.
  3. Mr. Vineet M., Bangalore (2006 Batch, B.Com. student) specially mentioned that teachers boosted confidence in him and helped him to improve his communication. The learnings at school have helped him to speak in front of a large audience.
  4. Mr. Udith Narayan (BCA student 2011 Batch, Sr. Software Engineer, Target Corporation, Bangalore) specially mentioned that the strong academic skills gained during his college days have encouraged him to start his software company. He also mentioned few openings in his companies and mentioned his juniors to improve their industry skills.

Nearly 140 alumni made it for the event. The musical treat was arranged by music club and rendered songs and cake cutting by Alumni members. Dinner was arranged for all.
