In connection with 70th Independence Day of India a variety of programmes were organized at the Amrita Health Sciences Campus, Kochi. A candle light freedom march, “Azaadi 70”, in remembrance of the sacrifices of freedom fighters (Yaadkaro Qurbani) was organized on August 11, 2016.
A flag hoisting ceremony was conducted on August 15, 2016. The National Flag was hoisted by Dr. Prathapan Nair, Principal, Amrita School of Medicine. Sampoojya Swami Purnamritanandapuri blessed the occasion.
