Bio

Dr. Govind D. joined Amrita School of Engineering, Amritanagar, Coimbatore, in the Center for Computational Engineering & Networking as Assistant Professor in August 2012. He completed PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and his core area of research is in Speech Signal Processing. He also worked as Project Lead in the UK-India education research initiative project (2007-2011) titled “Study of source features for speech synthesis and speaker recognition”, between IIT Guwahati and University of Edinburgh. He also has more than 50 research publications in reputed conferences and journals. Govind’s publications include prestigious conferences in the area of speech processing, like INTERSPEECH and International Conference on Audio Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP) organized by International Speech Communication Association (ISCA) and IEEE, respectively .

  • Ms. Lakshmipriya. S, my PG project student, received the best paper award for the PG thesis based paper in the international symposium on Signal Processing and Intelligent Recognition systems (SIRS) 2018.

  • Tinu T Joy (M-Tech 2014 batch) : Tinu was my MTech Project student of 2014 batch. After fnishing the MTech program and with the accepted SCI publication as a part of his MTech project, he secured PhD admission in Deaking university, australia in 2015. He joined as a data scientist at Exabel, Norway after submitting his PhD thesis in June 2018.
  • Hisham T (M-Tech 2015 batch) : As a part of MTech project Hisham published a paper in the nationa l conference of communications 2016 which is a reputed confeence organized by telematics group of IITs and IISc. He is currently working as a data scientist in UVOnics, an IOT based company.
  • Ajay S. G (M-Tech 2017 batch) : After completing M-Tech Ajay is currently working as data science engineer in Arknet, a company known for providing data analytics solutions for various natual language processing (NLP) tasks.
