Invisible Mathematics
“Invisible Mathematics” refers to the mathematical concepts and structures that underpin everyday phenomena but often go unnoticed in daily life. These hidden mathematical principles are foundational to technologies, systems, and processes that shape our world, such as algorithms in social media, encryption in online security, and the physics of natural systems. While these mathematical models are invisible to the average observer, they are essential in solving real-world problems and driving innovation. The study of invisible mathematics highlights how abstract mathematical theories manifest in practical, everyday applications, emphasizing the pervasive yet subtle role of mathematics in modern society
Dr. Ambat Vijayakumar, a renowned mathematician and Professor Emeritus at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), has made significant contributions to the field of graph theory. His research focuses on areas like spectra and energy of graphs, power domination, and product graphs.
Dr. Vijayakumar has been widely recognized for his academic achievements, with over 1800 citations to his work. He has published numerous research papers in prestigious journals and has mentored several PhD students. His dedication to research and teaching has earned him respect and admiration from colleagues and students alike.
Currently, he is an active member of the mathematics department at CUSAT, continuing to inspire and guide young researchers. His contributions to the field of mathematics are invaluable, and his legacy will continue to influence future generations of mathematicians.
