We would like to hear from you

Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) has accepted to be Chair of the country’s Civil 20 (C20), an official engagement group of the Group of 20 (G20) as India becomes host country for 2023. The G20 is the premier intergovernmental forum for the world’s developed and emerging economies to address financial stability on a global basis. The C20 is its platform for civil society organisations (CSOs) to bring forth non-government and non-business voices to the G20 leaders.

The Govt of India will assume the Presidency of the G20 for one year from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023. The pinnacle of events is September 9-10, 2023 when the G20 Leaders’ Summit will take place in New Delhi at the level of Heads of State and Government. In advance of the summit, the C20 will collaborate with hundreds of CSOs from around the world to represent the concerns of the common people.

Members of India's C20 include Sri M, the Satsang Foundation as Participant; Sudha Murthy, Chair, Infosys Foundation as Participant; Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini as Secretariat; and the Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari as Institutional Partner. Upon accepting her role as Chair, Amma expressed she was grateful to the Indian Government for arranging such a high-level representation of society’s needs.

CSOs are non-state, not-for-profit voluntary entities formed in the social sphere and represent a wide range of issues, including the UN’s Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. They are based upon community and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that function on local, national, or international levels. The objective is to bring citizens’ concerns to Governments and focus world attention on the pressing issues humanity faces.

Amma sees the world as a flower. Each country is a petal of the flower. If even one petal is attacked by a worm, it will soon affect the entire flower. We are seeing such a situation now. It will take sincere effort and the positive attitude of the people from every part of the world to ensure that this world-flower remains healthy and beautiful.
