The Department of Chemistry, established in 2002, serves as a supporting department to meet the academic needs of B.E. students in the first and second semesters at Visvesvaraya Technological University. In 2004, the department became part of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, and expanded its scope to aid various engineering departments within the institution.
