Higher education at Amrita entered a new dimension with the ISRO satellite network connecting the 4 campuses in 3 states. This high bandwidth satellite network has made Amrita University a fully interactive, multimedia capable, multi-disciplinary virtual university – the first of its kind in the nation. Padma Bhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) inaugurated this path-breaking initiative from Amritapuri. ISRO has been at the forefront of space technology and its applications in the service of society. Mr. Mohan Narayanan, Vice President & Mr. Vaidya Nathan, Director, Cognizant co-launched the Initiative.
