Advanced Water Treatment Research Lab
In this lab, fate and removal mechanisms of different pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) which are considered as emerging pollutants will be analyzed and their levels in the environment will be monitored. As most of these contaminants are not fully removed through the conventional waste water treatment methods and further through the natural attenuation processes, the toxicity effects of PPCPs will be predicted using simulation models along with laboratory experiments. Experimental study can be done in this lab to develop treatment methods to improve the removal rate of PPCPs from the environment
Key Words: Pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs), Toxicity effects of PPCPs, Removal rate of PPCPs, Water and waste water treatment for PPCPs

High Performance Concrete Lab
High performance concrete especially self compacting concrete (SCC) has got wide popularity in construction industry because of its ability to flow through congested reinforcement without segregation and bleeding. Even though European Federation of National Associations Representing for Concrete (EFNARC) guidelines are available for the mix design of SCC, large number of trials are required for obtaining an SCC mix with the desired engineering properties. Fresh state properties viz., flowing ability (Slump Flow), passing ability (J Ring), segregation resistance (V funnel at 5 min) are the check to determine the acceptability of SCC. But inorder prepare the SCC, it is necessary to add high range water reducers like superplasticizer. But all superplasticizers are not compatible with all the cement so it is necessary to check the compatibility of cement and superpalsticizer. Marsh cone flow time and mini slump spread test are required to perform to determine the saturation dosage and then to check the compatibility. Paste phase of the concrete determine the flow properties of concrete. But this flow behavior will change with respect to ingredients proportion and also with temperature. Rheological study using viscometer will give an idea about the change in rheological properties with temperature. High performance concrete lab is equipped with all these experimental setup to determine the above said properties of the mix.

Energy Efficient Materials Lab
Energy efficient materials lab is set up with the support of DST ‘Development of High Volume Fly ash Foam Concrete Wall Panel Using Rice Straw as Thermal Insulation Material” (TMD/CERI/BEE/2016/032). Today’s construction sectors use wide range of energy efficient materials to create buildings that combine interior comfort with lower energy costs and reduced environmental impact. When renovating old homes or planning a new development, the right combination of design and insulation can make a big difference to a building’s performance. This research lab is having testing facilities for the fabrication and testing of thermal, acoustic, heat resistance required for various energy efficient materials.
