Summary

The course introduces the students into the various terminologies used in Indian musicology and their explanations, like Nadam, Sruti, Svaram – svara nomenclature, Stayi, Graha, Nyasa, Amsa, Thala,- Saptatalas and their angas, Shadangas, Vadi, Samavadi, Anuvadi. The course takes the students through Carnatic as well as Hindustani classical styles.
