Amrita School of Engineering (ASE), Coimbatore, established by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, is located on a sprawling 400 acre campus at the foot-hills of the Western Ghats. The school of Engineering was started in 1994 and is one of the engineering colleges under Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University). Amrita University is accredited with the highest grade of 'A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, listed Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in category- "A" along with 37 other premier institutions of India. The Department of Mechanical Engineering of ASE which was started in the year 1994, offers B.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech programs in Engineering Design and Computer Integrated Design and Manufacturing. National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), is one of the premier technical institutions in India fully funded by Government of India. This was formerly known as Calicut Regional Engineering College. NITC is a technical institution of national importance set up by an Act of Parliament namely, the National Institute of Technology Act 2007.NITC is situated in a beautiful campus on the Calicut-Mukkam road, about 22 km from Calicut. NITC has 13 academic departments and offers 10 graduate, 25 post graduate programs and Ph.D in various areas of engineering, science, technology and management. The institute has good infrastructure in computing, information technology, laboratories, and libraries including a digital library. NAFEMS is the International Association for the Engineering Analysis community and it operates as an independent, non-profit organization. The scope of its activities encompasses all simulation technology, including FEA and CFD. NAFEMS becomes involved to create awareness of new analysis methodologies, deliver appropriate education and training, simulate the adaptation of best practices and effective use of technology by offering a platform for continuous professional development. NAFEMS and its members are involved in the application of many different types of engineering simulation covering both products and processes. Membership exceeds 950 corporate members from over 32 different countries.
