The Department established the following laboratories, all well equipped.
The Power Electronics Laboratory:
The power electronics laboratory is equipped with a number of digital storage oscilloscopes, networked computers with relevant softwares, spectrum analyser, pc based data acquisition systems, microprocessor and microcontroller kits with adc, dac and dsp development Systems. The laboratory has experimental set ups like dsp based ac drives, ac and dc motor controls, power converters, power supplies and device characteristics measurement. The laboratory has a good collection of data sheets and reference materials.
Electrical Machines Laboratory:
Machines laboratory has rotational devices (ac & dc generators/ motors, synchronous machines, induction machines), power transformers and measuring instruments. In addition the laboratory also has facilities for interfacing machine and computer for data acquisition and control. The laboratory has good infrastructure for taking up student projects in the areas of power systems, machine control, linear induction motors etc. Demonstration models and charts in this laboratory help to make the fundamental concepts very clear for the students.
Electrical Workshop
Electrical workshop is equipped with microprocessor based cable fault locator, digital power analyzers, transformer and motor winding machines, transformer oil test facility, pcb fabrication facility, pump testing facility and models of different types of domestic and industrial wirings.
Instrumentation and Control Systems Laboratory

This laboratory has state of the art analog & digital instruments and transducers like lvdt, thermocouples etc. Also facilities for the modeling and simulation of control systems to determine the transfer functions, transient response and frequency response and stability analysis are available.
The department library has a collection of 530 books which are provided for economically weak students.
