Coming from America, I can honestly say that Amrita compares to the best of American Universities. The campus provides an ideal learning environment free from all distractions and we have access to several facilities like state of the art computer labs, an excellent library, an online knowledge base e-vidya which contains tutorials and information on a vast number of current topics in science and technology and a digital library just to name a few.

One of the unique aspects of life in Amrita is an exposure to Indian culture and traditional values which is so essential in today’s fast changing world. We have an active chapter of SPICMACAY which organizes performances by renowned classical artists. Also, there are various cultural programs performed by our students.Outstanding academic facilities combined with an awareness of our rich cultural heritage makes being a student at Amrita a fantastic educational experience.

I did my schooling in Sishya, an ICSE board school in Chennai. The foundation was laid right there, and helped me gain admission to Amrita Institute of Technology. Right from day one, I was fascinated by the College, now one of the fastest growing research universities India.

Life at Amrita , was truly memorable. An excellent blend of value-based education,coupled with the great ambience around the campus, along with a fun-filled hostel life brings back many moments worth cherishing. The bhajans, the community service we all were engaged in whenever Amma came to Coimbatore, and frequent trips to Vallikavu, were amazing experiences for me.

If I were to tell you one trait unique to this institution , It will be this – This institution has taught me the art of balancing technology and the more finer aspects of life . It presents to the, students here, a rare combination of knowledge as well as skills that are required to live a fruitful life . I feel , every student who has graduated and those who will in the future , will bear that mark in his/her personality of having received this value added education offered at Amrita .

I believe that here at Amrita people are trained to live rather then just survive . And what kind of living is that ? A life in which you are motivated to not just excel as an intellectual but also as a human capable of serving his fellow men . This has been my amrita experience and I would certainly call it ‘an experience of a life time ‘ .

Life is wonderful especially to work on academics mostly because its hastle-free. Amrita campus gave me just more than that. I used to walk into the outer woods surrounding the campus when i had too much stress and one hour of time sitting on a bare rock overlooking into the greenery and the pink Institution buildings farther below was more than just sufficient. All thanks to that campus that has brought me here. I am very happy to say its only because of Amrita that I am.

My four years at Amrita campus redefined me. The time I spent here gave me more than a valuable Engineering degree. The campus, located in a natural setting of astounding beauty, provided me not only with highly competetive education and technical facilities, but also a spirtual aura for the kickstart of my career. The institution continues to impress me, with its ever expanding horizon in its services to the society, which is to deliver affordable, interdisciplinary and value-based education. No wonder, Amma's guidance has accelerated the growth of this campus into a deemed university that is redefining education at all levels. I am delighted to find that the university is taking efforts to revive the values of Indian Sciences like Ayurveda. I continue to stay stunned to see the campus colloborating with the industry and the governmental institutions for the development of the society and nation, at large.

Currently pursuing PhD ( On UKERI Scholarship) in Natural Language Processing at the University of Edinburough . Srinivasan was also awarded the Commonwealth and British Chevening Scholarship  for MSc in at the University of Sussex, UK.

Students are built by the institutions and I can tell that in this context, Amrita can really be proud of moulding such fine individuals and technocrats. I am sure that in the coming years Amrita Alumni will be all over the globe and sure enough, they will be excelling in their chosen fields. The four years were really like being in fire for me, frankly I struggled a lot through the rules and restrcitions there and but now I realise that it was the best which I can get that time. They were meant for my better tomorrows and once we get out of the campus we realise that all the rules and restrictions were there to enable us confront the realities in the world.

I am happy to see education there getting enriched with more research activities. Facilities in the college is really comparable to any other colleges. I am also touched by the untiring commitment of some of my faculty members who helped me out even at during odd hours amidst their hectic schedule.

I have found this college to be the embodiment of knowledge, grace and spirituality. The serine environment gives us warmth, confidence and above all the maturity to understand ourselves. The staff and the infrastructure are an exquisite to this exotic temple of learning. Encouraging the student’s ideas and exploiting their knowledge in various fields of research and development, in my experience this college is the veritable melting pot of creative minds.

The unique blend of moral and technical education at Amrita has refined me. I am grateful to my faculty without whom my acievements would not have been quite possible. I especially thank my guide, Mr.Santhosh Kumar and Vice Chancellor Dr.Venkat Rangan for their continuous encouragement and support.

Apart from the world-class infrastructure and highly qualified researchers, the calmness and tranquility of the campus provides an environment that is most conducive to learning. The education system is quite different here which emphasizes one's creativity and personal growth instead of just rote learning. Value-based education at Amrita has not only transformed me as a competitive engineer to face the corporate world, but also as a disciplined citizen of the society.

Being an alumni I am overwhelmed by the recent progress like e-learning, telemedicine etc at the university. I am delighted to know that Amrita has become a rendezvous of scientists, academicians and corporate professionals. The good tracking system in place at Amrita made effective by advisors and counselors saw to it that I, along with all others gave in our best. I consider it a blessing to have had very good instructors for major subjects. The labs which were offered and the regular symposia (Polyvista) that used to happen in Polymer Dept. helped me in selecting what I wanted to do. Having a direction helped me in doing courses in my third and final years with enthusiasm.

Final year was my most enjoyable time at Amrita. The evening walks on campus with hostelites and the bhajans on Thursday nights will always have a special place in me. I feel happy and a bit lucky that I was able to get what I wanted, from Amrita.

My four years at Amrita has made an impeccable transformation in me and has refined every aspect of my life.We at Amrita not only gain technical knowledge, but also learn the basic ethics of human life. To mention, our prayers have never been confined only towards self betterment but also towards the betterment of the eternity - "Lokhahe Samasthah Sukhino Bhavanthu". Today Amrita has not just made me an engineer but also has moulded me as a professional with rich moral and ethic values.

The environment provides an ideal setting for learning and recreation. Apart from that I cherish the Ettimadai railway station and the hostel balcony where the two places where most of my poems where born. Vallikavu silhouetted between backwaters and the ocean. where we used to go frequently is heaven on Earth . The unique blend of hard core technology based on values is what makes us stand out. All of us are indebted to the values inculcated in us right through the course. I was fortunate to take part in Amritavarsham 50, visit vallikavu and participate in the community service. A wonder called Vidya was born right in front of our eyes. I say with pride that it is one of the best digital libraries in the world.We students are given the noble opportunity to serve food to the poor and needy. This made us understand that life has indeed come on a platter for most of us.
