“Come, compete, conquer”, was the mantra which lured participants for ‘UTSAV 2008’.
UTSAV is the week long cultural and sports fest conducted for and by the ASBians. The entire student community of ASB is divided into four houses, aho compete against each other for the rolling trophy. This year the teams were named after the mighty kingdoms which ruled this great country as “Mauryas, Chalukyas, Cholas and Pallavas” This extravaganza of ASB was set off by Dr. Sanjay Banerji on 6 August 2008.
The core committee comprising of nine members from the first year had come up with a lot of exciting games and events which brought out the talents of the partcipants who took part in them with great enthusiasm and vigour. As the week progressed the intensity of enthusiasm, excitement and competition reached new heights. The competition between the houses was tough and everyone put in their best to make their houses win. A spirit of comradeship was seen among the members of each house.
After a week of intense competitons, the festival culminated with the ASB day celebrations. The final results were announced and Team Chalukyas were declared winners. Utsav 2008 has achieved its purpose ie; to bring joy and happiness. Not only that it has also served as a platform for the students to showcase their talents.Though the Utsav celebrations are over, the nostalgic feel it brings can never be over for the students. |
