With hills covering the campus on the three sides, nature adorns herself at her best with mist-covered mountains and lush green flora. The peaceful environment stimulates learning and creates an atmosphere where students can achieve focus in their academic work and at the same time live in close companionship with nature. The sight of a flock of parrots taking off from a bush or peacocks dancing to the sound of thunder makes one hold one’s breath and stand in awe. Away from the pollution and bustle of city life, the environment friendly campus nurtures water harvesting, EM based effluent/food waste treatment, drip-irrigation and reforestation programmes.
The campus is a township in itself with over 2500 students and is ideally equipped with the best in modern infrastructure and amenities. An on-campus air conditioned convention center with a seating capacity of 600 and multiple auditoriums ensure that students get frequent opportunities to listen to eminent speakers and organize events
that keep them abreast with the latest developments in their disciplines. The one-of-a-kind e-learning studio enables satellite based live multi- way classroom delivery across the different Amrita campuses. The campus provides for outdoor sports with two cricket pitches, four tennis courts, a football ground, a volleyball court, a basketball court
and indoor games like carrom, table tennis and chess. Also provided is a multi station gymnasium and table tennis/ badminton courts.
The Amrita library is a knowledge repository for us with its wide selection of books, periodicals, journals-both Indian and international, audio- video material and electronic databases such as EBSCO, Capitaline
and IBID. Amrita’s digital library, ‘Vidya’, a virtual treasure chest of infotainment, is a universe in itself, and may be one of the premier digital library in the country today. The multiple computer labs are well equipped with latest technology and networking solutions.
At the end of another long, challenging day, students retire to the peace
and quiet of their own single rooms- rooms with a phenomenal view of the distant mountains, and the natural beauty which is so unique to our campus. That solitude and tranquility is a gift in itself and opens portals into an inexhaustible world of energy and creativity.
