1. ELIGIBILITY FOR AMRITA MBA ADMISSION
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary/Higher Secondary/pre-degree examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board/University. Students who expect an excellent CAT score, but have failed to cross the 50% hurdle in 10th and 12th can also apply. It is up to the University to consider the merit of these applications.
Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor’s degree examinations may also apply
subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before 30th June 2008. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by 31st December 2008. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they are advised to produce a letter from their college principal/Head of Institution stating the examination dates. Candidates with appropriate industry experience will have an added advantage for admissions. 2. ADMISSION TEST
All candidates seeking admission to Amrita’s MBA Program should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in November 2007. For CAT bulletins and CAT application forms, please stay tuned to IIM advertisements. NRIs and Foreign Nationals are required to take the GMAT test.
3. SELECTION
The closing date for filed up application forms is December 31st 2007. By early 2008, candidates who are short-listed based on their CAT score will be called for a Personal Interview. Interviews were held till last year at Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kolkatta, Mumbai
and New Delhi. This year; over and above these centers, we plan to have two new centers in Chennai and Bangalore also. After the Personal Interview, candidates will be intimated of their final selection by the second week of March 2008. They should be ready to pay the first installment of fees within ten days from the time of intimation of their final selection. As far as the GMAT route is concerned, a maximum of six NRI and/or foreign candidates may be admitted through GMAT. A minimum GMAT score of 550 is necessary.
4. BATCH SIZE
The number of seats available for the fully residential 2-year MBA program starting on
11th June 2008 is 180 [tentative]. The current batch strength is 120.
5. ORIENTATION PROGRAM
In mid-June 2008, the School organizes a two-week orientation program for the incoming new batch. This program of preparatory studies is necessary before students can begin their regular work. Participation is compulsory for all students. The exact dates will be subject to notification at the appropriate time.
6. REFUND POLICY
1. Tuition fee once paid is not refundable.
2. Caution deposit will be refunded after the settlement of liabilities, if any.
3. Rent towards hostel accommodation, and medical expenses, etc. will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
7. APPLICATION FORM

8. DEAN VISITS YOUR CITY
The dean of Amrita School of Business, Prof. V.S Somanath will be visiting select cities to meet aspiring MBA applicants in late October / early November. His travel itinerary will be hosted in the Amrita website, once it is finalised. Meanwhile prospective students who are keen on a one-on-one interaction with the dean before they make a choice are invited to get in touch with us by mail. We will try to accommodate more city visits depending on the number of requests that we get. The details of the helpdesk are appended below.
9. ADMISSIONS E-HELP DESK
