Bio

Dr Balakrishnan is currently the Dean of engg in the Amritapuri campus,Amrita. . After completing his PhD at UT Austin in Materials science he worked in AMAT ( Applied materials), Bay area , Ca for seven years before joining Amrita in 2006. His research interests include advanced materials-electronic materials, magnetic materials, 2 D materials, materials for electromagnetic shielding , hydrogen storage . His international collaborations include Penn State IFW, institute of solid state materials , Dresden. He has over 66 publications including leading journals like Nature.He is also the chairman if the mech engg dept at Amritapuri and Director of the Center for Flexible Electronics and advanced materials.
